Readypower Group – Sustainability Assurance for GRESB

Key Facts

Client: Readypower Group
Service: Independent Sustainability Assurance
Assurance Standard: AA1000 Assurance Standard v3
Assurance Level: Type 2 – Moderate
Reporting Year: 2024
Scope: Sustainability governance and Scope 1 & 2 energy and emissions data

Readypower Group appointed Climate Integrated Solutions (CIS) to deliver independent external assurance of its sustainability governance and performance data in support of its 2024 GRESB submission and wider stakeholder reporting.

The engagement applied the internationally recognised AA1000 Assurance Standard (v3), strengthening the credibility, transparency, and governance of Readypowers’ sustainability reporting, with a particular focus on Scope 1 and Scope 2 energy and emissions data.

Solution

Following a review of available assurance frameworks, CIS recommended AA1000AS v3 (Type 2 – Moderate) as the most appropriate and proportionate approach for Readypower’s needs.

The assurance framework was selected for its strong alignment with GRESB expectations and its focus on:

  • Sustainability governance and accountability
  • Stakeholder engagement and materiality
  • Data credibility, accuracy, and transparency

The engagement covered sustainability management and governance processes, stakeholder engagement, materiality determination, and Scope 1 and Scope 2 energy and emissions data. Delivery included management interviews, review of sustainability documentation, site-level verification, and independent assurance reporting.

Results

The 2024 AA1000AS assurance engagement delivered clear outcomes for Readypower, including:

  • Increased confidence in Scope 1 and Scope 2 energy and emissions data
  • Independent third-party assurance supporting the 2024 GRESB submission
  • Strengthened sustainability governance and Board-level oversight
  • Improved transparency and decision-usefulness of ESG disclosures
  • Identification of data gaps, control weaknesses, and improvement actions
  • Improved alignment with regulatory reporting requirements, including SECR and ESOS

As a direct outcome of the engagement, Readypower has re-appointed CIS to deliver the same scope of AA1000AS v3 (Type 2 – Moderate) assurance for the 2025 reporting year, ensuring year-on-year consistency and continuous improvement.
